..who is responsible for the future you ask, yes, who? The more I look around the more I see a very ill society, full of paranoia and psychosis, devastated souls in a devastated world. A very pessimistic vision, yes, but yet again, depression is not desperation, "Troppo facile la disperazione; più difficile contribuire al restauro." (Desperation is too easy, more difficult is to contribute to the restoration) said Luciano Anceschi many years ago. Nothing seems more difficult now in a crumbling Europe, in a generally global crumbling of societies. I also don't want to be in the midst of misery and I try to work hard through the ephemeral splendor of experiences so that at least I can take care of my interiority, first for myself, then for others. ...interiority... I believe that's about the inability to talk about the things we wish we could but we can't really express; things we try to express, communicate, project in a sentimental way, where sentimentality doesn't really represent the inexplicable and it's just a faint illusory form of it. What I’m trying to say is that you can't really explain/express invention or imagination as they give themselves to perceptions in their multi-form nature; they make themselves heard, they act and are not acted upon. Invention and imagination are not related to expression as their nature is symbolic, like cloudiness – as a symbolic idea – is not about clouds. That said, musical communication only exists on a purely emotional level (emotions, not feelings). Emotionality is immanent, expression is definitely linked to the instant, instant is unpredictably transcendent. But still… I don't really know, and that's why I'm sound-thinking all the time. In creative energy and imagination I see the only form of a radically different and transformative future, a newer and deeper ψυχήδηλοῦν. The pragmatisms of capitalism have failed from the very beginning. g

This resonates with me in so many ways, and also depresses me that the process of transformation is taking so long. 1932! I, like most people I gravitate to, do not understand the construct of society with it's emphasis on 'work." I do appreciate usefullness though, and have come to understand that some people actually do get bored when faced with alone time. In 2011, something that I wrongfully assume is a given - that "art" is needs to be seen as more than just a painting or the act of listening to music, etc, will have to be hammered home yet again to folks. There is the story of a real buddist master who is at the point of enlightenment, and at that moment, turns around and goes back to the beginning, to bring others along and teach the joy. If we are not in it all together, where, ultimately is the joy? It is all connected, as we all are. For every wealthy corporate banker, there is a semi-successful artists, and also a 20 yr old in a restaurant. Who is responsible for the future? do we not all owe something to each other with regards to living in proximity? These are all people we share our lives with. I personally, don't want to be in the midst of miserable people, so I will do whatever I can to make them feel alive. That process, however, is one that does not have a lot of value in our society, and through reading this article, m=I understand hasn't for a long time. But is it a conspiracy or human nature, constructing it's own dark nature? it is hard to fathom it being so intelligently set up in such a manner. OK, enough for now.
