Gradients 1,2,and 3 are a set of pieces for computer generated sounds all based

upon a common structural transformation of three different graphic images. The lefthand

images were translated into sound using an image to sound conversion program.

These translations were for a variety of different time durations in both forward and

retrograde versions. The time durations were determined by golden mean proportions

and sequenced as follows:

Left channel:

Right channel:

The right-hand images are spectral displays of the three resultant compositions, time
